Kaizer Chiefs is backed to sign Pyramids FC and South African international Fagrie Lakay ahead of next season.

The attacker is expected to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, having joined the club from Cape Town City FC back in January 2022.
However, his recent lack of game time at the club has led to the player being loaned out to fellow Egyptian Premier League side Cleopatra FC, where he is having a decent season.
He has managed to register five goals and eight assists in 30 matches across all competitions and is one game away from leading the club to the final of the Egyptian League Cup having won the first leg of the semi-final clash against Ismaily 2-0.
Despite his successful stint in Egypt, the 28-year-old is open to returning to South Africa, which sees Amakhosi backed to land the attacker by the club’s former middlefielder, Tinashe Nengomasha.
Speaking to The CoverUp, the former Zimbabwean international stated that the club should go in for Lakay, as they wouldn’t afford to sign Lakay’s teammate Fiston Mayele.
Should Amakhosi decide to go in for the player, they are likely to face challenge from several clubs around the globe, especially in the Gulf region.
