Kaizer Chiefs is reportedly looking to sign struggling Mamelodi Sundowns starlet, as the Naturena-based continues to be linked with big names players.

With the 2024-2025 season less than three months from coming to an end, Amakhosi continues to be linked with top players, as the club is expected to have another squad overhaul.

Despite the positive start to the season, Chiefs once again finds itself at risk of missing out on top eight competition next season, prompting the club to look to heavily back head coach Nasreddine Nabi in the market when the season ends.

Their pursuit to land top players to help turn the situation around will likely see the club look to their arch-rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns, according to Soccer Laduma.

The publication reports that the club will look at signing out-favour Thapelo Maseko.

“It’s a move Chiefs are contemplating working on,” the publication states.

“The Chiefs scouts know Maseko, and they know what he could bring to the team, and that’s why they are enquiring about him.

“For now, it’s still early to say what will happen, but I can tell you is that they are seriously looking into that.”

The South African international has struggled to cement a place in the first team this season, as injuries and being down in the pecking order has seen him drop down to the club’s reserve side for game time.

However, despite his limited game time in the first team, the youngster is seen as an important first-team player by the club’s hierarchy and coaching staff.
