Kaizer Chiefs keeps pace with Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the Gauteng Development League(GDL) log table.

Amakhosi welcomed Rosina Sedibane at the Naturena Village in the 18th round of the 2024 Gauteng Development League(GDL) season.

In the first of the four matches at the village, Amakhosi’s under-13 side managed to give helpless Sedibane a 5-0 hiding to start the day on the high for the hosts.
The victory was quickly repeated by the under-15 side that also thrashed the visitors, five goals to nothing heading into the last two matches of the day.
However, Sedibane quickly dusted themselves up and shock Chiefs 3-2 in the under-17 division.
But Amakhosi youngster had the last laugh of the day, as the under-19 side edged the 14th placed side 2-1 to end the day with three victories out of four matches.
The victory sees Chiefs move 20 overall points behind Sundowns in first with 154 points after the 18th round of matches, one more round more than Sundowns.

Chiefs is next in action this upcoming weekend on Saturday and Sunday against Randburg Academy FC at the Randburg Sports ground and North West University at Naturena, respectively.

The matches on both days will start at 9 in the morning and will provide Chiefs with a chance to close the Sundowns gap ahead of the Knockout phase of the competition.
