Grant Kekana is said to be unhappy at Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the 2024-2025 season with Kaizer Chiefs lurking around.

The South African international is said to have received a two-year deal with an option for a further year from the club on the salary he is currently at, and he turned it down according to Unplayable ZA.

“Grant Kekana is unhappy with Mamelodi Sundowns’ offer to renew his contract, reports @SkepeMatsebane,” UnplayableZA stated.
“The reigning #DStvPrem Defender of the Season was initially offered a two-year extension, with an option for another year, but on the same salary. He rejected it.”
Unplayable further went on to say that the club’s Sporting Director, Flemming Berg, later offered the defender a one-year deal with no option to extend, but with an increase to his salary, which left the player unhappy and may look to leave the club with Kaizer Chiefs an option.
“Flemming Berg, the sporting director, returned with a 1-year contract, with no option, and Kekana is “fuming” that he’s not valued. Kaizer Chiefs are apparently an option if Kekana leaves,” UnplayableZA concluded.
The former Supersport United Defender’s current deal at the club expires at the end of the 2025/2026 season, and he is among a host of players facing uncertain times at the club.
Already, the Brazilians have seen a number of big names leave the club after another average season, which saw the club win two(Dstv Premiership and African Football League titles) of five competitions they participated in.
