Kaizer Chiefs middlefielder and captain Yusuf Maart is linked with a sensational and shock return to his former club, Sekhukhune United.

Maart joined Amakhosi back in 2022 from Babina Noko after two brilliant seasons at the Limpopo-based club but has struggled to provide to replicate the form that saw Chiefs sign him at Naturena.
A concerning feat that has seen the club’s faithful somewhat turn on him despite the club awarding him the armband at the beginning of the current season.

The Orlando Pirates graduate missed a penalty during Chiefs’ last match, which saw the Phefeni Glamour Boys suffer a 2-1 defeat to Golden Arrows.
His missed penalty saw the club’s faithful turn on him and booed him every time he was on the ball before he scored the club’s only goal of the match.
The South African international is in his final three months of his contract at the club, and so far, there is no news of a contract extension which has opened doors for his former side, Sekhukhune United according to Soccer Laduma.
The publication reports that Sekhukhune is interested in re-signing Maart from Chiefs three years after selling to the club.
“His future at Chiefs is unclear, and that’s why it’s believed that Sekhukhune United are interested in signing him back,” the publication states.
“Apparently, there is no decision yet made by Chiefs, which means he could possibly return to Sekhukhune as a free agent.
“For now, it’s still in the pipeline, and nothing has been concluded yet, but something is cooking from Sekhukhune’s side.”
