After a fierce first leg clash last week at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, the return leg in Tunisia was expected to be nothing short of another fierce encounter, especially after what happened when the match ended.

The Taraji fans, as Esperance fans are called, got involved in a physical fight with Sundowns fans after the match, which ultimately made the Esperance fans more hostile towards the return leg.
However, after throwing all the scare tactics towards the Brazilians during the match, the South African side managed to walk out of the match with a goalless draw that sees them win the tie 1-0 on aggregate having won the the first leg.
The frustrated fans took their frustration out on their team by attacking them with bottles(throwing missiles at the players) and forcing the players to rush into the dressing room under heavy police watch.

The scene was followed by a shocking turn of event, as the same fans that attacked their Esperance players applauded Sundowns players as they were heading into the dressing room.

Meanwhile, the victory in Tunisia sets up a semifinal clash against Africa’s most successful side, Al Ahly SC, after the Egyptian giants beat Al Hilal 1-0 on the night to win the tie 2-0 on aggregate.
The other semi-final clash will be confirmed later today after Pyramids FC beat AS FAR 4-3 on aggregate and will now await the winner of Orlando Pirates and MC Alger.
