There is no club in the top-tier of South African football that likes to flex their financial muscles in the transfer market like Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Chlorkoop based club is one of the heavy spenders in South African football, if not African football.

Since Billionaire, Dr Patrice Motsepe, bought the club back in 2004, the club has been spending heavily on players.

With one of their most expensive transfer dealings being the buying of Marcello Allende from Montevideo City Torque for R51 million this past year.

The club’s quest for African dominance sees them continuing to spend big in the market.

Yesterday, they welcomed their latest signings, Junior Mendieta and Everton Moraes, to Chlorkoop after they completed multi-million deals to the club.

The two South American stars join the Brazilians from Stellenbosch FC and Bahia FC, respectively.

Joining a long list of players from the continent to play for the 13 times South African league champions.

However, the club will have to lose some foreign players ahead of next season.

To open foreigners’ spots for Mendieta and Moraes.

Fellow South American star Erwin Saavedra and Ethiopian international Nasir Abubeker are likely to leave the club.

They are both linked with loan moves away from the club.
