Questions that were answered last month after it was revealed that the player is currently unhappy at the club due to the salary he is earning and how the club is failing to keep it’s promises him.
Despite all the noises surrounding the 26-year-old attacker, the club is understood to have triggered the two-year extension in his contract, as his current deal was set to end at the end of the season.
The two-year deal will see Saleng stay at the club until the end of the 2026/2027 season, which the player is not looking to stay until it ends.
With the player earning around R70 000 at the club, Saleng is reported to be set to hand in a transfer request at the end of the season according to The Citizen source.
“He is l not happy with how he has been treated by Pirates. He feels he deserves better, especially for what he has done for the club,” the publication reports.
“Even this season, he was doing well before this whole thing started. He just wants a fair deal from Pirates, that’s all.”
However, the Buccaneers’ hierarchy is expected to reject the request, as they reportedly did on January, as they value the South African international as one of their important players.
