A possible third reunion of Cassius Mailula and Rulani Mokwena at MC Alger is in doubt, as the attacker is linked with a European move.

Mokwena first worked with Mailula back in the season 2022-2023 at Mamelodi Sundowns, where he gave the then 19-year-old his professional debut.
Mailula grabbed the chance and went on to score nine goals and provided three assits in 18 league matches before moving to a Major Soccer League(MLS) side, Toronto FC at the end of the season.
However, his time in Canada didn’t go as planned, as lack of game time and poor run of form saw Mokwena sign Mailula on a season-long loan at Wydad Athletic Club.
With Mokwena leaving the Morrocan club less a season into his four-year deal, Mailula also returned to his parent club in the MLS.
But his return in Canada is set to be followed by a permanent exit from the club, and again Mokwena this time at an Algerian side, MC Alger is looking at signing the Sundowns development graduate.
However, with reports circulating that the attacker is in Algeria to conclude his move to Alger and join Mokwena for the third time in his career, one of the leading journalists in African football, Micky Jnr suggests that is untrue.
Micky Jnr stated on his various social media platforms that the 24-year-old attacker is not in Algeria.
In fact , he talks with an unnamed European club that will participate in the UEFA Europa League this upcoming season.
He further went on to state that Mailula will only consider a move to Algeria, only if the European move fails.
