Going into the 2023/2024 season, the future of Orlando Pirates star attacker Thembinkosi Lorch is hanging on a balance.

The attacker is facing criminal charges after being found guilty of assulting his ex-girlfriend Fundiswa Mathithibala back in September 2020.
The Randburg Magistrates’ Court found Lorch guilty for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Former Chippa United player will learn his fate this upcoming Friday, the 28th of July 2023, as he will be sentenced.
Leaving his future at Pirates in doubt, as his verdict could go either way.

THEMBINKOSI LORCH’S CONTRACT AT ORLANDO PIRATES!
However, despite his freedom being under threat, Lorch still has a year left in his contract at Pirates.
But the news reaching us is that the 30-year-old has signed a contract extension at the club.
Despite rumoured to have turned down a new deal back in June.
The South African international is reported to have penned a three-year extension, which will see him stay at the club until the end of the 2026/2027 season.
The new deal sees him enter the top five of the most paid players in the league.
Meanwhile, the club is open to letting Lorch leave should he want to go.
Mamelodi Sundowns is among clubs said to be interested in landing the player.
