However, according to one of South African football journalists, Mastarmind, the middlefielder is allegedly suspended for arriving in training intoxicated.
Mastermind reports that the 24-year-old arrived in training under the influence of alcohol which has led to the club putting new measures in place to deal with such instances.
“Orlando Pirates midfielder Thalente Mbatha’s arrival at training in a drunken state has sparked a new era of discipline at the club,” Mastarmind stated on X.
“The 24-year-old player stumbled onto the training field, reeking of alcohol and unable to participate in the day’s drills.”
He further went on to reveal that the news of his injuries was just to cover up his deeds, and the club’s management is disappointed in the player.
“Reports had earlier indicated that Mbatha was nursing an injury, but it turned out that he was actually hungover,” Mastarmind’s statement continued.
“The club’s management was left stunned and disappointed by the revelation.”
The former Supersport United middlefielder is alleged to have been suspended, pending the outcome of the investigation into the matter.
“Mbatha’s behaviour was deemed unacceptable by the club’s management,” he continued.
“Mbatha has allegedly been suspended from training and matches pending the outcome of the investigation.”
