With the host favourites to win the match, Matsatsantsa a Pitori flipped the script and produced their best performance of the season, which was started by former Chiefs player Samir Nurkovic in the third minute.

The former Royal AM striker coolly slotted in Ghampani Lungu’s cross from the right flank to hand the visitors an early lead.

The lead lasted 27 minutes as Glody Lolipo continued his good start to life at Chiefs, as he headed in Pule Mmodi’s cross to level the scoreline.

However, SuperSport quickly regained their lead as Christian Saile, who is on loan from Chiefs, tapped in a cross from Nurkovic to hand the visitors a 2-1 lead in the break.

SuperSport went on to score two more goals in the second half, as Lungu tapped in Bruce Bvuma’s rebound in the 63rd minute followed by former Orlando Pirates middlefielder Siphesihle Ndlovu’s wonder strike in the 83rd minute, 14 minutes after Gaston Sirino received a red card for two yellow cards in 11 minutes.

Meanwhile, in other matches on the night Chippa United defeated Cape Town City 2-0 in Cape Town, Magesi edged Polokwane City 1-0 in Polokwane, and Stellenbosch FC came from behind to beat TS Galaxy 3-2 in Mbombela.
