Mamelodi Sundowns legend Lerato Kgasago confirms her exit from the club after 13 successful years with the Chloorkop-based side.

Having joined the Brazilians back in 2012 as a teenager, Kgasago took to her social media account to say goodbye to a place she has called home for the last 13 years.
“After 13 years of service at Mamelodi Sundowns, it has come the time to partways,” Kgasago stated in her letter.
“It has been a journey full of memories with teammates, technical staff, fans, and club administrators.
“I am thankful for everyone who have contributed to my growth, good and bad, and I am ready for the new challenges ahead of me that requires new focus.”
The 33-year-old was also the club’s under-20 academy manager in her latter years at the club.
During her tenure as the manager, saw her win seven trophies between 2022 and 2025, and she also touched on how it helped her to grow, as well as helping the younger generation to grow as well.
“Being the academy manager simultaneously, brought a level of responsibility for the young generation that I knew I had to take,” Kgasago added.
“I am happy to have contributed to their growth with opportunities that were not around when I started as a young kid.
“The story does not end here, the chapters will be published but the writing continues with ‘Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us’.”
Kgasago leaves the club as one of the most decorated players in the club’s history in both men and women.
She leaves having won 13 trophies with the club that includes five league honours and two CAF Women’s Champions League championships.
