Mamelodi Sundowns will have to cope with a depleted squad when they host Petro de Luanda in the second leg of the African Football League quarterfinals on Tuesday.
The Brazilians have a comfortable lead after winning 2-0 in Angola, but they will be missing eight key players due to injuries.
Sundowns’ Injury list
The following players are at risk of being ruled out for the match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium due to injuries like they did during the last game:
Thapelo Morena: The versatile defender is recovering from an abdominal injury that he sustained in the first leg.
He is undergoing stage 2 rehabilitation and is expected to be out for at least another two weeks.
Siyanda Nyanga: The midfielder is suffering from a shoulder injury and is also in stage 2 rehabilitation.
He is likely to be sidelined for at least three weeks.
Sipho Mbule: The creative midfielder suffers from an ankle injury and is in stage 3 rehabilitation.

Peter Shalulile: The Namibian forward has an ankle problem and is in stage 2 rehabilitation.
He is doubtful about the Petro game.
Lebohang Maboe: The attacking midfielder missed the last match due to illness, and he is also doubtful for the second leg.

Despite the injury crisis, Sundowns has enough quality and depth to overcome Petro and advance to the semifinals.
