South African international is set to sign a long-term deal at Mamelodi Sundowns after recently becoming African champion.

Before heading to Egypt to play the Under-20 AFCON tournament with Amajita, Thato Sibiya was occasionally training with the first-team after being invited by Manqoba Mngqithi and later Miguel Cardoso after Mngqithi was fired.
The 18-year-old was a permanent fixture for the club’s reserve side in the Dstv Diski Challenge this past season despite spending most of the season training with the first team.
Having seen his teammates in the reserve side like Siyabonga Mabena and Kutlwano Letlhaku being part of the first team, Sibiya had ambitions of joining them in the first-team in the near future.
After a stellar campaign in Egypt with the under-20 side that saw South Africa lift the AFCON trophy, the youngster is about to join Mabena and Letlhaku in the first-team.
Sibiya is set to be promoted to the first-team ahead of next season, earning him a lucrative deal at the club believed to be around a five-year deal.
He is expected to battle the likes of Divine Lunga, Aubrey Modiba, Terrence Mashego, Asekho Tiwani, and Siyanda Msani for the left back position next season.
