The Sundowns graduate completed a three-year move to a Canadian based club, Toronto FC, yesterday.

Toronto paid around R30 million for the attacker, who scored 15 goals and provided 4 assists in 31 games last season.

The South African international’s move leaves his mentor and coach, Rhulani Mokwena, emotional.

Sundowns’ tactician took to his Instagram story to share his delight and sorrows of Mailula’s move to North America.

“Like a father who’s just let his son leave the family home to venture into a new life, I’m with mixed emotions,” Mokwena wrote.

“Extremely happy for your next venture and yet sad because I’ve lost a son.

“You will always have a special place in my heart.

“You are a reflection of what God can do when you respect and listen.

“When you are tha. man(than a) footballer. When you are an incredible human being.

“We army Mamelodi Sundowns, thank you. And I already miss you.”
