PSL Disciplinary Commitee comes down hard on both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates after both clubs pleaded guilty for fans’ misconduct during recent high-profile matches.

After pleading guilty for spectators throwing missiles for matches involving both clubs and Mamelodi Sundowns, PSL DC decided to sanction both clubs in terms of issuing fines penalties.

Amakhosi were fined R150 000 plus the costs of the hearing after their fans threw missiles into the pitch during a Betway Premiership clash against Pirates on the 1st of February 2025.
Initially, Chiefs was fined R100 000 with half of it suspended, but due to an outstanding charge of R100 000, which was suspended from their previous charge reactivated, the Naturena-based were charged R150 000.
Meanwhile, their arch-rivals, Pirates were charged R125 000 plus the costs of the hearing for the same charge as Chiefs which occurred during a 4-1 defeat to Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on the 8th of February 2025.

The Buccaneers were charged R100 000 for the new charge with R25 000 suspended and R50 000 coming from the old charge, which was activated after the fans reoffended.
The suspended amount in both cases will be valid for 12 months, in which the club must not re-offend.
