Orlando Pirates star attacker Thembinkosi Lorch is found guilty for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Fundiswa Mathithibala.
After nearly three years, the judgment in the matter was handed down today in the Randburg Magistrate Court.
The case was opened back in September 2020 at the Midrand Police Station by the victim, Mathithibala.
The incident happened when the then Lorch’s girlfriend Mathithibala went to visit him in his home in Midrand.
But the Pirates star decided to go out partying with his friends instead of staying with his girlfriend.

Lorch’s return started a war of words that led to becoming violent towards Mathithibala.
The South African international was arrested a few days later.
After years of the court case seemingly going cold, he was found guilty of assault and the case is again postponed to July 2023 for sentencing.
Meanwhile, Lorch just comes out of a successful season with the Buccaneers.
Winning both cup competitions(the Nedbank Cup and MTN8) while also finishing second in the Dstv Premiership behind Mamelodi Sundowns.
Whether he will face jail time or not will be decided in July.
