Orlando Pirates reportedly receives a lucrative offer of over R35 million for the services of young superstar Relebohile Mofokeng.

After a stellar 2024-2025 season, Mofokeng has been heavily linked with a move away from the Buccaneers with the Saudi Pro League side, Al-Ettifaq, one of the clubs said to be interested in his services.
However, despite the link, the Saudi Arabian side filled its foreign quota, closing the 20-year-old’s chances of joining his former teammate Mohau Nkota in Saudi Arabia.
With the attacker seemingly set to stay at Pirates for another season, a Major Soccer League side, Minnesota United, submitted a $2 million(approximately R35.3 million) offer for Mofokeng according to Tom Bogert.
“Minnesota United submit bid north of $2m for South Africa int’l winger Relebohile Mofokeng to Orlando Pirates. Talks ongoing,” Tom Bogert stated on his X account.
“Mofokeng, 20, big talent breaking through for club and country.
“Would be U-22 initiative. MNUFC long-time admirers of Mofokeng.”
The MLS transfer window market closes on Thursday, the 21st of August(Friday, the 22nd in South Africa).
Should Mofokeng complete the move to America, he will join a fellow South African international Bongokuhle Hlongwane who also plies his trade for Minnesota.
