Orlando Pirates Football Club is in talks with two female football teams.

The Buccaneers are in talks with two female teams, University of Johannesburg Ladies and Wits University Ladies.

This comes after CAF’s new regulations demand the clubs playing in the CAF inter-club competitions from next season to have a female team.

Pirates decides to form a partnership with either of the teams instead of starting their own team from scratch.

Because the CAF closing date for the rule to be met is the 30th of June, not giving the club enough time to create a female team.

The Sea Robbers qualifies for the CAF Champions League by finishing second in the Dstv Premiership behind Mamelodi Sundowns.

But before they can register for next season’s competition with CAF, there are boxes to tick.

It’s only a matter of time before Pirates ticks all the boxes.
