One of the clubs that are looking beyond this season is Pirates.
The Sea Robbers are said to be on the brink to trigger an option for a further year in their goalkeeper, Melusi Buthelezi’s contract, according to Soccer Laduma.
“Yes the club is just making sure they keep him longer and that everything is in order and that is why they are believed to be exercising the one-year option on his contract,” Soccer Laduma source stated.
The new deal will see the former TS Galaxy goal-minder stay at Pirates until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
“Of course, it is only expiring in June 2026, but they are apparently just making sure that he is contracted until June 2027, hence the move right now,” the source added.
