Mamelodi Sundowns told to replace Lucas Ribeiro Costa with Orlando Pirates starlet if the Brazilian leaves the club at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has been one of the top performers in the South African football fraternity since he joined the Brazilians back in July 2023 from Belgian second division club, SK Bereven.
Ribeiro has managed to register 52 goal contributions in the season and a half that he has been at the Chloorkop-based club.

The attacker’s form has seen him attracting interests from European clubs such as French Ligue 1 side, LOSC Lille, and Club Brugge, leaving Sundowns to look for replacement for him should he leave at the end of the season.
Former Sundowns star Manqoba Ngwenya has suggested that Pirates starlet Relebohile Mofokeng is the only player in South Africa that can replace Ribeiro at Chloorkop.
“He is definitely the hottest property at the moment, you know,” Ngwenya stated on SoccerBeat YouTube channel.
“One I can think of, he did damage to us (this past) weekend, is Mofokeng. He can fill those shoes.”
Meanwhile, the Pirates youngster is also tipped with a move away from the Buccaneers at the end of the current season.
Clubs like FC Barcelona, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Rangers, and few Belgian clubs are linked with the South African international.
