Orlando Pirates Football Club star defender saves lives ahead of the new season.
After ending the 2023/2024 season with two trophies, Orlando Pirates central defender Sandile Mthethwa continues his heroic acts.

Mthethwa joined Pirates back in 2016 from an ametuer club, Durban FC, and spent the last six years out on loan at both Chippa United and Richards Bay.
But the appointment of the Spaniard head coach, Jose Riveiro, at the beginning of the 2022/2023 season, changed his fortunes at the club.
He struggled to make a breakthrough in the first half of the season.
But in the second round of the season, Mthethwa went on to become an important part of the Pirates.

The highlight of his season being his winner against Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup semifinal clash.

Outside of football, the 26-year-old seems to also care about others.
He shared an image on his Instagram story, @mthethwa_1824, donating blood with a caption “Let me save someone’s life.”
Meanwhile, he is expected to be part of the Pirates’ team that will take on Stellenbosch FC.
The opening match of the season will be played at the Danie Craven Stadium with kick-off set for 8 pm(SA time).
