Orlando Pirates is believed to have a decision regarding the future of the club’s star attacker Gilberto, who is currently out on loan.

The attacker joined the Buccaneers at the beginning of the season from an Angolan club, Atletico Petro De Luanda, with high hope of helping the club challenge Mamelodi Sundowns for league honours and also make an impact in the CAF Champions League.
However, six months after joining the club, the 24-year-old winger returned to his former club on a six months loan deal, leaving his Pirates career in jeopardy.

According to The Citizen, the Buccaneers are opened to partways with the attacker after a season at the club.
“Orlando Pirates are open to cutting ties with Gilberto, who has struggled to make an impact in the Betway Premiership since his arrival at the start of the season,” the publication reports.
This comes after the player struggled for game time with the likes of Mohau Nkota, Relebohile Mofokeng, and Monnapule Saleng ahead of him in the prcking order.
While his former side, Petro De Luanda, is interested in signing him back and making his loan move to a permanent one.
“With the emergence of youngster Mohau Nkota, Gilberto fell down the pecking order in José Riveiro’s plans,” the publication continued.
“Word reaching Phakaaathi is that the powers that be at Pirates are open to selling Gilberto.
“The attacker still has two years left on his current contract, and Petro is reportedly interested in making the deal to bring him back to the Girabola league a permanent one.”
