Orlando Pirates is understood to be closer to signing two former Mamelodi Sundowns, as the club continues to bolster its squad.

The Buccaneers has been one of the busiest clubs in the market since the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season, as the club has signed four players so far.
However, despite signing those players, the club continues to be active in the market, as they are in talks to sign two former Mamelodi Sundowns players Thabo Moloisane and Sipho Mbule.
The talks between Pirates and Stellenbosch FC for the former are believed to be in the advanced stage with the 26-year-old central defender seen as the potential replacement for the retired Innocent Maela.
Meanwhile, the talks for Mbule are in an infant stage, as the player has recently parted ways with the Brazilians after the club decided not to extend his stay.
The former SuperSport United middlefielder’s agency led by veteran agent Mike Makaab is expected to meet with Pirates’ hierarchy in the near future to discuss a potential deal that could see Mbule dawn the black and white of Pirates from next season.
Meanwhile, Pirates’ arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs is also said to be interested in the player as well.
