Mamelodi Sundowns delays in offering Mosa Lebusa a two-year extension despite the two parties agreeing on a new deal.

Lebusa, who joined Sundowns back in 2018 from the then relegated and now-defunct Ajax Cape Town FC, is in his final three months of his contract at the club.
The two parties agreed on a two-year extension earlier this year due to the player being held highly by both the technical team and the club’s hierarchy.

However, despite the agreement reached, the player is yet to put pen to paper due to the club stalling on the agreement according to The Citizen.
The publication reports that both the player and the club want to continue the relationship due to the player’s loyalty.
However, the negotiations have stalled despite the player clearly stating the wants to be part of the squad that will represent the club at the 2026 FIFA Club World Cup.
“The situation with Mosa (Lebusa) is really simple. He wants to stay,” the publication states.
“The club wants him to remain because of his loyalty and service. I am not sure why the negotiations have stalled since an agreement seems close.
“He wants to participate in the Club World Cup with Sundowns, and I have been told the club offered him a two-year extension.”
Meanwhile, Themba Zwane and Khuliso Mudau also find themselves in uncertain situations at the club.
Zwane’s contract extension is put on hold to see if he will provide the club with the same class and quality he has provided before his injury, while Mudau is nowhere close to reaching an agreement with the club over a new deal.
