Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates star attacker Monnapule Saleng is understood to be set to rejoin the Buccaneers’ first-team squad.

The 26-year-old attacker’s future at the club seemed uncertain as he last featured for the club back in December due to him being reported to be at odds with the club due to him being unhappy with his contract.
However, the club swiftly tied down its star player by triggering a two-year extension in his contract, tying the South African international until June 2027.

With the news of his contract extension shocking the South African football fraternity, the former now-defunct Free State Stars attacker is set to rejoin Pirates’ first-team for the remainder of the season according to our sources close to the club.
He is expected to be part of the Pirates side that takes on SuperSport United in the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup this Saturday.
This comes after he was among the four players who were released from South Africa’s CHAN squad yesterday, with the others being Azola Tshobeni from Pirates, Nduduzo Mhlongo from Golden Arrows, and Naledi Hlongwane from Kaizer Chiefs.
The quartert were replaced by Victor Letsoalo of TS Galaxy, Mondli Mpoto, and Levy Mashiane of Royal AM.
Bafana will face Egypt in Egypt this upcoming Sunday after playing to a one-all draw this past Sunday in Bloemfontein.
