Mamelodi Sundowns is understood to have pulled out of the race to sign Bafana Bafana star.

Towards the end of the South African domestic season, the Brazilians were leading the race to sign Stellenbosch FC left back Fawaaz Basadien ahead of arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
However, the emergence of young Thato Sibiya and the form of Divine Lunga has seemingly changed the club’s plans regarding the signing Basadien.
According to sources near the club, Sundowns has pulled out of the race to sign the 29-year-old defender and will instead promote Sibiya and extend Lunga’s stay for a further year.
Meanwhile, Terrence Mashego is also set to stay as well, as his contract with the club was ending at the end of this month, and the club has decided to trigger an option for a further year.
Other options in the position are Asekho Tiwani and Siyanda Msani, who was out on loan at the Motsepe Foundation Championship club, University of Pretoria FC.
Sundowns pulling out of the race leaves both Chiefs and Pirates battling for the services of the former now-defunct Moroka Swallows player.
