Mamelodi Sundowns’ hierarchy has made a decision on veteran goalkeeper Denis Onyango, who is in his final month of his contract.

Heading into the current season, the club decided to hand the then 39-year-old Onyango a one year extension despite the veteran goalkeeper not being the first choice goalkeeper at the club.
The deal was expected to be his last one at the club as a player, given that he will be 40 when the season ends.
However, the Ugandan who recently won his 12th league title in the country is set to form part of the players that will travel to the United States of America to represent Masandawana in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and also be part of the club’s squad next season.
This comes after Onyango penned a one-year extension with the Brazilians, and that will see him enter his 20th season in the top-tier of South African football next season.
Meanwhile, his teammate, Mosa Lebusa, has also penned a one-year extension with the club and will also be part of the squad that travels to the US.
