The club is set to participate in the African Football League (AFL), a multi-million-dollar tournament, with their first match coinciding with their Carling Knockout Last 16 clash against TS Galaxy.

However, a recent agreement was reached that allowed Sundowns to take part in this prestigious continental competition.

A Weekend of Double Commitment For Mamelodi Sundowns

The crux of the matter revolves around the scheduling of fixtures.

Sundowns is slated to face Petro de Luanda in Angola on Saturday, October 21, as part of their African Football League campaign.

Coincidentally, the Carling Knockout Last 16 match against TS Galaxy is also scheduled for the same weekend, taking place between October 20 and 22.

This overlap creates a logistical challenge for the club, forcing them to consider the best course of action.

The Likely Postponement

Given the clash of fixtures and the commitment of participating in both the AFL and the Carling Knockout, it appears that Sundowns will have no option but to request a postponement of their fixture against TS Galaxy.
