Mamelodi Sundowns and Portuguese tactician is reported to have partways after a 2-1 defeat to Sudanese giants, Al Hilal Omdurman, on Friday night.

The Brazilians went into Friday night, CAF Champions League Group C encounter against Al Hilal in Rwanda at the back of an uninspiring run of displays of the pitch which left many which included the club’s former attacker Anthony Laffor calling for the head of the head coach.
Sundowns went on to lose the match 2-1 after a late strike from Arthur Sales was not enough to see the South African top tier champions return from Rwanda with three points.
Penalty in the first half from the host’s captain Mohamed Abdelrahman and early second strike from Jean Claude Gurumisha was enough to see the home side leapfrog their opponents to first in the group with eight points after four matches three ahead of Sundowns in second.
The defeat seems to have decided the future of the former Esperance Sportive de Tunis head coach at Chloorkop, as according to Rwanda Broadcasting Agency journalist Eric Ndagijimana, Sundowns has decided to partways with Cardoso and his technical team after the defeat.
However, the club has yet to release a statement about the departure of the coach and our efforts to contact the club regarding the issue was unsuccessful.
