Luke Baartman wins his case against his former side Cape Town Spurs FC at the Premier Soccer League Dispute Resolution Chamber(PSL DRC), declaring him a free agent.

Last month Spurs took the trio of Asanele Velebayi, Liam Bern, and Baartman to the PSL DRC after the players signed contracts with Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC on free transfers after Spurs was relegated to the amateur level of South African football.
Spurs argued that despite the club being relegated, the trio still had contracts with the club, and any club that wants to sign them should pay a fee.
However, the PSL DRC ruled in favour of the players, citing NSL rule stating that players become free agents upon the club being relegated to the amateur leagues of the South African football.
Having announced the signing of Velebayi last week after the PSL DRC, Amakhosi is poised to announce the signature of his former teammate, Baartman, who was also declared a free agent.
Meanwhile, Spurs is likely to appeal the decision to the South African Football Association(SAFA) like they did with Velebayi.
But despite the appeal, Chiefs can sign, register, and play Baartman as per NSL rules.
