Bafana Bafana international striker Lebohang Mothiba is believed to have signed a contract with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Having last kicked a ball back in December 2023, Mothiba has been a free agent since the end of last season.

Since leaving the French club, the lanky attacker has been linked with several clubs in Africa, including Kaizer Chiefs and Rulani Mokwena coached club, Wydad Athletic Club with the latter coming close to signing him back in January.
After his failed move to Botola Pro club, the 29-year-old has been with South African top-tier defending league champions, Sundowns.
With the player being seen in the club’s matches in the last few matches, head coach Miguel Cardoso has provided insight into what the player is doing at Chloorkop.
Talking after the 4-2 victory over Sekhukhune United, Cardoso stated that Mothiba is out injured and will play a part later in the season. This means the player is a Sundowns player.
“Lebo Mothiba is in the final stages of his recovery,” Cardoso stated.

Mothiba is expected to be part of the Sundowns team that will travel to the United States of America later this year for the 2025 Club FIFA World Cup.
