Kaizer Chiefs Football Club captain Itumeleng is set to return to competitive action in a Soweto encounter later today.
The South African international is the club’s number-two goalkeeper behind former now-defunct Bidvest Wits Football Club shot-stopper Brandon Petersen.
The veteran keeper is in line to start for Amakhosi this afternoon against Soweto rivals Swallows Football Club, as Petersen is suspended for the match.
Petersen picked up his fourth yellow card of the season during Chiefs’ last match against Chippa United and will serve his suspension later today.
Itu last played for Amakhosi back in January, in a 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns, a third defeat in a row for the club during that time.
The 35-year-old old will be looking to register his third clean sheet of the season, having got two in the nine league matches he has played for the club this season.
Chiefs will host Swallows at The New Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane this afternoon.
The Naturena-based club will be going into the match looking to complete a league double over their Soweto rivals, having claimed a 2-1 victory back in October.
