The overhaul is expected to see a host of players leaving the club, which could also see a number of players heading in.
One of the players the Naturena-based club will look to bring is Mamelodi Sundowns middlefielder Neo Maema, according to Soccer Laduma.
The publication reports that Maema could be among a number of players that will leave Sundowns at the end of the season, as the club’s head coach Miguel Cardoso is looking to trim his squad, opening doors to Chiefs to sign him.
“As for Sundowns, they are looking to downsize their squad at the end of the season, and Chiefs are believed to be looking to use the window to pursue Maema,” the publication stated.
“They have apparently been monitoring him for some time, and now they have a chance to sign him if Sundowns let’s him go.”
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old is currently out of favour at the club, as this season he has struggled for game time alongside the likes of Siphelele Mkhulise and Divine Lunga who are also linked with a move away from Chloorkop.
