Kaizer Chiefs is understood to be set to offer versatile defender Edmilson Dove a new contract offer, as his current deal heads to an end.

Earlier this season, Dove suffered a devastating knee injury that saw the club not register him and seemingly heading for an exit when the current season ends.
However, the sale of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe to Libyan giants Al Ittihad and the club’s struggles in the left position saw the Mozambican international return to action and take over as the club’s number one left back.

His return and good run with the first team, along with him acquiring South African citizenship, is set to extend his stay at Naturena beyond the current season, according to Soccer Laduma.
“As for Edmilson Dove, he has (the) highest chance of staying on for next season because he is now registered as a local player,” the publication reports.
“It’s the localisation that is believed to (have) saved his career at Chiefs.
“So for now, we can say he is safe.”
