Kaizer Chiefs is believed to be struggling to reach an agreement over contract termination with former Orlando Pirates defender Bongani Sam.

Sam was among a handful of players that joined Amakhosi towards the start of the 2024-2025 season before he unfortunately picked up an injury during his first weeks at the club.
The injury he suffered during the pre-season camp in Europe kept the 28-year-old left fullback out for more than six months on the sidelines.
Upon his return, the former now-defunct Moroka Swallows player struggled to break into the club’s head coach Nasreddine Nabi’s plans, ultimately pushing him into a possible exit from the club without playing a competitive match.
A year after signing a three-year deal with an option for a further year, Sam is in negotiations with the club over a possible exit.
However, with his exit expected to have happened weeks ago, the player and the club are still yet to partways, as they are yet to reach an agreement over termination of his contract and compensation for his remaining contract.
Meanwhile, the club has already replaced Sam by bringing in his former teammate at Pirates, Paseka Mako, and Nkanyiso Shinga.
