Having led his country, Mozambique, in a one-all draw against Angola this past Friday, Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove led his country against Nigeria yesterday.

Dove’s Red Card

The former Cape Town City FC star defender didn’t have a good game against Nigeria, playing less than half of the match.

He received his marching orders in the 38th minute with the score 2-1 in favour of the much fancied Nigerian side.

Match Outcome

Despite losing Dove early, Mozambique managed to hold their own in the match.

Pulling one back 10 minutes into the second half after Nigerians extended their lead just before the break.

The match ended 3-2 in favour of the Nigerian team that missed a lot of scoring chances.

Dove To Miss Mozambique’s Next Match?

Despite his red card, the 29-year-old will feature in Mozambique’s next match against Botswana next month in 2026 World Cup qualifiers’ match.
