One of Kaizer Chiefs Football Club’s injured stars is back in training ahead of Young Africans’ clash.

Ahead of the 2023/2024 season, Kaizer Chiefs is about to go into season without one of their key players.

Amakhosi are currently in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, preparing for their friendly match against Yanga at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

The Tanzanian and African giants will play the Glamour Boys during the 2023 addition of Yanga Day in front of 60 000 fans.

Despite traveling with a full squad, Chiefs is likely to not have one of their captains, Keagan Dolly, for the match.

The 30-year-old is still recovering from a knee injury he suffered towards the end of last season.

Dolly was forced off in the second back in April 2023 against Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium with a suspected knee injury.

Which later was confirmed, and forced the attacker to sit out the rest of the season.

However, the former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker reported for pre-season despite being injured.

Even though he is not ready to return to full training, Dolly returned to training ahead of Yanga’s clash.

The attacker was spotted among his teammates during the captain’s run inside the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium yesterday.

He is unlikely to play any part in the match, as during the practice run, he was using his right foot only.

Trying to not put any pressure on his injured left leg, as it may cause more damage.


The South African international is likely to return to action towards the end of September, as it takes 4-6 months for a knee injury to heal.

But in the meantime, his Chiefs teammates will take on Yanga today(22 July 2023).

Kick-off of the match is set for 6 pm South African time.

The match will be broadcast live on Dstv Channel 205(Supersport Football) for South African viewers.
