The appointment of Molefi Ntseki as the club’s new head coach sent shockwaves across the football fraternity in the country.

With many expecting the club to appoint an experienced coach who has proven track record in leading a senior team before.

Towards the end of last season, the then Chiefs’ head coach Arthur Zwane faced torrid times from the club’s fans.

Calling for his removal as the club’s head coach after a poor season in charge of the first team.

This led to the club looking to bring in former Young Africans head coach Nasreddine Nabi as head coach.

But the coach’s demands led to the club going a different route and appointed Ntseki as the head coach.

An upcoming sports journalist by the name of Gilbert Muthivhi feels the club’s fans are to blame for Ntseki’s appointment.

“To be honest this whole mess was created by Kaizer Chiefs fans, who called for Arthurs[Arthur’s] head knowing bery[very] well how much the club invested into Zwane,” Muthivhi said.

“You asked for a coach different from Zwane, they answered you, now deal with it. [You] shouldve[should’ve] left the Mangethe ball.”

“We would like to congratulate Coach Ntseki and thank him for accepting this huge responsibility,” Dr Kaizer Motaung said.

“We know it’s not an easy task, but we believe his experience and knowledge will help us to improve and achieve our goals as Kaizer Chiefs.”

“He has been working here for two years, working well with Coaches Arthur and Dillion in his role as Head of Technical, and will now work with them in different capacity.”
