Despite the club not providing the reasons for his absence, it has been established that the 44-year-old missed the match after he was hospitalised this past weekend due to a suspected virus that attacked the club’s camp.
The virus was suspected to have also affected some of the club’s technical staff, including head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who was seen wearing a face mask during SuperSport’s match to avoid spreading it to the players.
With the club’s fans worried about his wellbeing, one of the leading journalists in African football fraternity, Micky Jnr reported that Kaze is discharged and started back at home.
“Kaizer Chiefs’ assistant coach Cedric Kaze has been discharged from the hospital now,” Micky Jnr stated.
