In his reply, the Spaniard tactician asked the club’s fans to be patient with the club’s former reserve team captain, as he is just starting out his career and he will have challenges that can make or break him.
“I know that the boy is attracting a lot of attention because he is the new kid on the block, he is performing well, he is giving us some good things,” Riveiro stated.
“We have to be patient with him because he is just starting his career in professional football, and it’s gonna be up and down for sure now.
“But we need to all of us as a club, the fans as well be patient with him but it’s clearly an interesting prospect for the future.”
The 19-year-old is expected to start his fourth match in a row this Sunday when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium.
He is likely to be paired alongside Nkosinathi Sibisi at the heart of Pirates’ defence in what many see as a must win match for the Buccaneers.
