Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro finally breaks his silence on the saga involving Monnapule Saleng and the club.

Riveiro has been without his most important player since he joined the club due to ongoing contractual issues between the club and Saleng.
Which has left the Spaniard tactician without his most potent attacker, as Saleng has registered 42 goal contributions in 70 games and also won five trophies in two-and-a-half seasons.
Riveiro was asked by the media about whether the absence of the 26-year-old is affecting the club’s attacking prowess heading into the final part of the season.

In his response, the Pirates coach mentioned that he doesn’t think about players whether they win or lose and that it us not his place to talk about the situation.
“I don’t think about players when we win or when we don’t win,” Riveiro stated.
“I think no one wanted to be in this situation when we started the season, but it is that.
“As you know, it’s not my role to speak so much about that issue, I just wish for the best for both sides in this case. We focus on the players that we have, that’s it.
“Luckily, we have a lot of talent in the team. We have players with a lot of hunger wanting to use their opportunities, and like I said, the opportunities are presented to them.
“We have players in every position capable to do the job, and that’s it; we have to live in the moment and look to the future.
“The future for us is to get ready tomorrow for the big match on the weekend.
“There’s no time to think so much about who’s there or who’s not.”
The Buccaneers are set to take on their arch-rivals and Betway Premiership log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, this upcoming Sunday at FNB Stadium.
The match at the iconic stadium will kick off at 3h30 pm South African time.
