Injured Kaizer Chiefs star Ashley Du Preez is set to return to action in the upcoming pre-season.
The former Stellenbosch FC attacker left the field in the 41st minute after a poor tackle from Tariq Fielies in the 34th minute.
Fielies saw red for his reckless tackle in his club 1-0 victory over Chiefs.
Du Preez was rushed to the hospital with a suspected fractured bone and later followed by his teammate Khama Billiat.
Billiat came in to replace Du Preez but was taken off four minutes later after re-injurying his groin.
According to Idiskitv, the extent of the 25-year-old’s injury is better than first feared.
However, the injured player is still wearing a protective cast, but no breaks or fractures are found.
Despite being in crutches, he is expected to be ready for the start of pre-season.
The South African international will be among the host of new signings at the club.
After the club signed Mduduzi Mdantshane, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, and Given Msimango.
The club is expected to add more players in the upcoming transfer window.
Because the likes of Ranga Chivaviro and Fiston Mayele linked with a move to Naturena.
