TS Galaxy striker Bernard Parker faces a long and uncertain road to recovery after suffering a career-ending injury in the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final against Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday.
Parker breaks leg in horror tackle
The former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs player broke his leg and was rushed to hospital, where he underwent surgery on Thursday, the 19th of October 2023.
Parker’s teammate and captain shows support
Parker’s teammate and captain Mlungisi Mbunjana posted a heartfelt message on his Instagram account, praying for Parker’s recovery.
He shared a picture of himself and Parker in hospital a day after having surgery.
He captioned the post with a touching message, expressing his solidarity and support for Parker.
“A legend of the game, great player, great teammate, great leader, and most importantly , selfless, passionate, and incredible human being,” Mbunjana wrote.
“It was great seeing you, brother.
“We thank God for the successful surgery and to hear Doctor say you’ll come back stronger and kick ball again was the greatest news.”
Bernard Parker’s Chances of Playing Again
Despite having the age against him, Parker is likely to play football professionally again, as revealed by his teammate.
