French coach Patrice Carteron dismissed the rumours linking him with the head coach job at Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 52-year-old former French defender is surprised by the rumours that he is talking to Sundowns regarding the head coach post.
Saying that the news is untrue, and he is not in talks with the club to become the club’s new head coach.
Rulani Mokwena failed to win the CAF Champions League with Sundowns, and it opened doors for other coaches.
See Carteron’s response to rumours linking him to Sundowns below:
However, Mokwena is set to stay at Sundowns going into the new season.
He is currently in talks with the club over a new deal and will sign an extension and continue as head coach.
Meanwhile, Manqoba Mnqgithi is able to leave the club when his contract expires.
Mnqgithi’s contract ends at the end of the season 2023/2024.
Mnqgithi is linked with a move to Naturena and seems unhappy at Sundowns.
But the move is unlikely to happen after his agent Mike Makaab ruled it out.
Insisting his client will see his contract out unless the coach changes his mind and moves away from the club.
However, the French coach will not be moving to Chlorkoop after ruling himself out.
But over the years, we have learned football can change in a heartbeat.
