Mabizela, who is the assistant coach of the Under-13 team, has not been seen at the club for a while, and his whereabouts are unknown.

Mabizela was a notable absentee at the weekend, when his team participated in games at Pallock Stadium near KwaMashu in Durban.

According to an inside source, Mabizela’s presence at training has also been inconsistent, with him showing up only when he feels like it.

AmaZulu’s Project 2023 Youth Programme in jeopardy

Mabizela was one of the three former Bafana Bafana internationals who joined AmaZulu earlier this year as part of their Project 2023 Youth Programme.

The other two are Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Manqoba Ngwenya, who are coaching the Under-15 and Under-17 teams respectively.

The KwaZulu-Natal club are looking to pioneer a new development vision within their structures and have roped in some of the best football minds the country has ever produced.

However, Mabizela’s disappearance could jeopardize the club’s plans and ambitions.
