A former Orlando Pirates player who currently plays for TS Galaxy, s facing serious charges of attempted rape, domestic violence , and malicious damage to property.
The player, whose identity can not be revealed for legal reasons, allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend at her home in Sandton, north of Joburg, on Saturday, 11 November 2023.
A Friendship Turned Sour
The victim, a 31-year-old online teacher, told Daily Sun that she met the player in 2021, and they became friends before trying out a romantic relationship.

However, things did not work out, and they broke up.
She said that the player was still obsessed with her and would not leave her alone.
On Saturday, the player showed up at her house uninvited and demanded to have sex with her.
When she refused, he became violent and tried to force himself on her.
She managed to escape from the bedroom and ran outside, where the security guards came to her rescue.
The player then fled the scene in his car.
A Traumatic Experience
The victim said that she was traumatized by the incident and that it affected her work as an online teacher.

She said that her students are in countries like Germany and Brazil and that she could not teach them because of the stress.
She also said that the player smashed her iPhone 13 against the wall and claimed that she was his wife.
She said that she wanted her property back and that he should be arrested.
“He needs to understand that a no is a no. I don’t know why he got so angry. We are not together,” she said.
A Police Investigation Against Former Orlando Pirates Star
According to Daily Sun, the police confirmed that a case of attempted rape, domestic violence, and malicious damage to property was opened against the player on Saturday.
They said that they were investigating the matter and that no arrests had been made yet.
