Former French Ligue 2 star confirms talks with Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the 2025-2026 Betway Premiership season.

Having never plied his trade for a South African club in the professional ranks, Lebogang Phiri is eyeing a return to South Africa at the age of 30.
The attacking middlefielder graced Mark Park in Johannesburg with his presence this past weekend to watch the future stars of South African in action during the Engen Knockout Challenge Cup competition.
While there, Phiri spoke to Sunday World about his future moving forward, having recently parted ways with French Ligue 2 side EA Guingamp.
He told the publication that him and his representatives were in talks with Amakhosi regarding a possible deal, which has since gone cold as the club travelled to the Netherlands for pre-season.
He further went to state that he is hopeful that the talks will resume shortly, and if they don’t, he will look elsewhere and continue to play football.
Meanwhile, the Naturena-based club is on the brink of announcing the signings of Etiosa Godspower Ighodaro, Asanele Velebayi, and Luke Baartman in the next coming days, as preparations for the new season continues.
