Five-plus players are set to leave Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the 2025-2026 Betway Premiership season.

Mamelodi Sundowns star attacker Kobamelo Kodisang and Orlando Pirates middlefielder Sipho Mbule during Mamelodi Sundowns training session at Chloorkop, Pretoria during the 2024-2025 pre-season.

Towards the end of the 2024-2025 season, the Brazilians indicated that the club’s head coach, Miguel Cardoso, will trim down the squad, which will see a host of players leave the club.

So far, the club has parted ways seven players, as Sipho Mbule, Rivaldo Coetzee, Lebohang Maboe, Thabang Sibanyoni, Sanele Tshabalala,  Lucas Suarez, and Sfiso Ngobeni have been shown the exit doors.

However, despite the departure of the seven players, the club is expected to make decisions on the futures of close to ten players.

While Etiosa Ighodaro has left to join Kaizer Chiefs, Kobamelo Kodisang, Nasir Abubeker, Terrence Mashego, Rushine De Reuck, Matias Esquivel, Siyanda Msane, Zuko Mdunyelwa, Siyanda Nyanga, Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi, and Ismail Watenga are expected to leave the club.

Given where they find themselves at the club, they are most likely to leave the club on a permanent basis with a few also likely to leave on a loan basis.

Meanwhile, Reyaad Pieterse, Thembinkosi Lorch, Siphelele Mkhulise, Neo Maema, Thapelo Maseko, and Siyabonga Mabena are also facing uncertain times at Chloorkop.
